Did you know that Persephone isn't actually the goddess of spring? She's a full fledged underworld goddess. Demeter is the actual spring goddess. Back in Mycenaean Mythology, Persephone was a very terrifying goddess. In fact it was taboo to say her name because everyone thought it was extremely bad luck to say her name. The Mycenaean are basically like, the ancient Greece of ancient Greece. Most Greek myths actually took place in Mycenae rather than when the actual Greeks came along themselves. Most Greek gods were adopted from Mycenaean mythology. Hades didn't actually exist in Mycenaean Mythology, the original Poseidon ruled both the seas and the underworld, since they probably associated earthquakes with tsunamis. But other than that, Persephone is no flower girl. Her mom just is. I thought it was just a cool thing i learned.
